Side Room Theory
Side Room Theory explores the energy found just off the main stage. The show is built around atmospheric groove led deep house, minimal textures and subtle UK influenced rhythms that patiently unfold. Spending years between city clubs, festivals and regional dancefloors has shaped how I listen to music today. I have always been drawn to basslines, dubby atmospheres, breakbeat rhythms and DJs who know how to build a room slowly.
After years of collecting records and following the scene, I finally stepped into DJing myself. Over the past 18 months I have been playing more regularly across Geelong, Melbourne and the Surf Coast, including a couple of sets at Torquay Hotel (which felt like a scene from Ibiza) and an ambient and downtempo festival slot at Beyond The Valley. Those outdoor sunset sessions and my warm up sets in recent months for The Trip (UK), SWIM, THELMA and Lu.Re really pushed me further toward deeper, hypnotic sounds.
Side Room Theory is about flow, restraint and musical storytelling. It is a space for atmospheric house, minimal deep tech, dub techno, progressive leaning grooves and building dancefloors where everyone feels comfortable to move and be themselves.
